This Privacy Notice for Sāveista (“we,” “us,” or “our”) describes how and why we may access, collect, store, use, and/or share your personal information when you visit www.saveista.com, use Sāveista's price-comparison services, or otherwise interact with us.

Summary

  • What we collect: account details (email, name, and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of it — we never store or see the raw password), the products you save or set price alerts for, and usage data like pages visited and searches performed.
  • What we don't collect: payment information, precise location/GPS data, or sensitive categories like health, race, or religious information. Sāveista doesn't process payments — all purchases happen on the retailer's own site.
  • How we use it: to operate your account, run the product search and price-alert features, and improve the service.
  • Who we share it with: Google (for sign-in), our hosting and database providers, and retailers/affiliate networks when you click through to a product (see Affiliate Disclosure).

1. What information do we collect?

Information you provide

  • Email/password sign-up: your name, email address, and password. Your password is hashed with bcrypt before it's stored — we never store or have access to the plain-text version.
  • Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Saved products and price alerts: the products you add to your wishlist and any target prices you set for alerts.
  • Anything you send us directly, e.g. by emailing contact@saveista.com.

Information collected automatically

When you use Sāveista we automatically collect some information that doesn't by itself identify you — IP address, browser and device type, general location inferred from IP (not GPS), referring pages, and how you interact with the site (pages viewed, searches run). This is used to keep the service secure and reliable and to understand usage at an aggregate level.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. When you click through to a retailer, an affiliate tracking cookie may be set (by us or by the retailer/affiliate network) so that retailer can attribute a purchase back to Sāveista. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect whether you stay signed in or whether a retailer correctly credits a purchase to Sāveista.

Google API Services

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. How do we process your information?

We process your information to:

  • create and maintain your account and keep you signed in;
  • run the features you use, like saved products and price alerts;
  • respond when you contact us;
  • detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
  • understand usage trends and improve Sāveista's search, pricing data, and overall experience; and
  • comply with applicable law.

3. When and with whom do we share information?

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers: our hosting platform, database provider, and similar infrastructure vendors, who process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
  • Retailers and affiliate networks: when you click through to a retailer, that click (and any resulting purchase) may be tracked so the retailer can pay us an affiliate commission. Once you're on the retailer's site, their own privacy policy applies, not ours.
  • Legal reasons: if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of business assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How do we handle your social logins?

Sāveista currently supports signing in with Google. If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from Google as described above. We only use this to create and manage your Sāveista account.

5. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we're required to keep it for legal or security reasons.

6. How do we keep your information safe?

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and using encrypted connections. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Do we collect information from minors?

Sāveista is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.

8. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights, or ask us to delete your account, by contacting us at contact@saveista.com. We'll respond in accordance with applicable data protection law.

9. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most browsers include a “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) signal. No uniform standard exists for how sites should respond, so we don't currently respond to DNT signals.

10. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

If you're a resident of a US state with its own privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or others), you may have additional rights over your personal information under that law. Contact us at contact@saveista.com and we'll honor applicable state-specific requests.

11. Do we make updates to this notice?

We may update this notice as Sāveista grows. We'll update the “Last updated” date above whenever we do, and material changes will be reflected here.
